Abstract

This article shows a brief explanation about what is sexual abuse and family triangulation. Sexual abuse includes many forms from touching and exposing the genitals to penetration; the abuse is generally committed by people close to the victim, someone very trustworthy, for example uncles, first cousins or the father, that is, in the family context.

Since sexual abuse generally occurs in a family context, family triangulation is approached seen from this problem and exemplified with a clinical case that could be observed in practices in a place where women with children who suffer from physical violence go and some of them also of sexual abuse. In this case, a complementary triangulation occurs because the father abuses the eldest daughter, the mother competes with her daughter, but in reality she does not realize that her relationship with her partner is broken and that she is only putting herself in danger so much like his five daughters.
