Martín López Calva parte para la creación de esta obra de la experiencia vivida en una cátedra universitaria acerca de la filosofía de la educación. Considera que la filosofía es capaz de suscitar una reflexión profunda en quienes la
estudian, y en consecuencia propone ejercicios que per- siguen un aprendizaje significativo mediante la dinámica de grupo y las preguntas trascendentales de la filosofía.
