The next essay proposes a contextual reading of poetry and fiction by Efrén Rebolledo, from the influence of the main buildings of the imaginary and the decadentist aesthetics in his work. The decadentism was a cultural movement of the nineteenth century, caused by industrial urbanization and asociated to the different currents of modernism. Efrén Rebolledo was born in Actopan, Hidalgo, in 1877, and die in 1929 in Madrid, Spain.
