Una característica de los libros clásicos, de los grandes libros, es que ocupan espacios imprescindibles para el conocimiento de las culturas. Éste es uno de esos libros. ”La revolución mexicana en el cine. Un acercamiento a partir de la mirada italoeuropea” es un libro magistralmente coordinado por los acreditados investigadores Bernd Hausberger y Raffaele Moro. La obra es una vasta recopilación de nueve ensayos cuya temática principal, es la representación de la revolución mexicana en los cines europeos desde mediados de los años 60 y mediados de los años 70 del siglo XX el cual se encontraba por diversas circunstancias lejos de los debates académicos, tanto entre los estudiosos de los estereotipos del mexicano como entre los estudiosos del cine de este país. El bicentenario de la revolución y la independencia celebrado en 2010 representó un resurgir de los estudios de ambas épocas, y este libro viene a cubrir un interesante periodo de la cinematografía internacional en el que el mexicano fue protagonista de cientos de películas realizadas en Europa, pero ambientadas en el territorio de la Revolución Mexicana. El hecho que esta cinematografía y esta forma de ver sean ajenos para el público mexicano en general, resultan perfectamente aclarados y analizados en este libro que aglutina diferentes puntos de vista sobre este objeto de estudio.
