El P. Julio de la Torre, profesor de moral social y política en la Academia Alfonsiana de Roma, en la Universidad Lateranense y en el Instituto de Ciencias Morales de Madrid, ofrece en este libro una profunda reflexión en torno a cuestiones de teología política, particularmente de aquellas que involucran el compromiso de los cristianos en el complejo contexto político de la época. Si bien han transcurrido casi 25 años desde la aparición de esta publicación, aún resulta vigente la descripción de los factores de índole político que caracterizaron el mundo de ese tiempo, que, en varios sentidos, es similar al de hoy.
