This article analyzes the emergence of the audiovisual in the study of communication, from the emergence of television to its current condition. The objective of this text is to observe the impact of audiovisual media on social processes. For this, a review of the theoretical proposals that exposed the historical processes and the impact that communication had on them was carried out. At the end of this document, the current condition of the
transmedia, the receptor and its relationship with some products are reflected, taking as an example, the film Black Mirror: Bandersnatch (David Slade, 2018).
