The present work addresses the continuity of memory and orality of deceased persons from the sound records recorded in in-depth interviews, as well as the interpretations and approaches that allow their permanence in contemporary time and space. This makes it possible to know, recognize and preserve the knowledge provided by the recorded subjects that, even after their death, it is possible to continue listening and using. Based on oral history, sound and audiovisual records and ethnography, the article reviews the contributions of the preservation of memory and orality, reflecting on a situation that eventually we will all "live": the survival of voices recorded to the same death of the interviewed subject.
