Mexico, after Brazil, takes the second spot in Latin America of cases of murder of transgender people, mainly women (Transgender Europe, 2015). Even after these happenings, transfeminicides are not typified as crimes and victims end up registered as ”men” or even as ”men dressed as woman”. A mexican film that takes on this situation is Carmín tropical (Pérezcano, 2014). The film tells the story of Mabel, a muxe that returns to Juchitán, Oaxaca, to investigate the murder of her friend Daniela, who is also a muxe. It’s about a trip to the past from which a pile of memories with an unclear atmosphere are constructed with a feeling of yearning and melancholy. The present article analyzes the narrative filming resources used for the reconstruction of the memory of the murdering in said movie, organized in three categories: photographs, interviews with the witnesses and the reflexive staging about the past. This work helps in the conceptual proposals of Maurice Halbwachs about individual and collective memory. This work was concluded in october, 2018.
