una revisión sistemática de la literatura académica entre 2014 y 2020

This article presents a systematic review of academic literature published between 2014 and 2020, aiming to analyze how youth socially construct love and erotic-amorous relationships within digitally mediated contexts, from a social constructionist and communication-based perspective. The review was conducted in two stages: the first focused on studies addressing youth, love, and social constructionism; the second incorporated categories from the field of communication, such as language, meanings, and communicative practices. From the analysis of 93 documents and the selection of 14 key studies, significant transformations were identified in youth’s conceptions of love, marked by tensions between traditional romantic models and emerging forms of relationships characterized by autonomy and negotiation. The review also highlights the central role of digital technologies in shaping affective bonds, emotional regulation, and surveillance dynamics. Most studies used qualitative methodologies, underscoring the relevance of interpretive approaches to understand the complexity of the phenomenon. The article concludes by proposing a communicational perspective of love as a situated, performative, and technologically mediated social practice, opening avenues for future intersectional research on love, youth, and technology.
