Abstract

Television is the most influential mass media today. The diversity of the broadcast programs makes its offer much more extensive, however, within the possibilities presented to us, there are contents that play an educational role for young people, without that being their main purpose. This article shows the results of the research carried out in April 2010, which aimed to provide young people from the secondary school of Ayahualulco, Veracruz, with sufficient bases to choose and discriminate the content provided by television, with the In order for them to be able to differentiate those that will truly allow them personal and social growth, from those that will not.
